Change Your Driving Habits

Changing your driving habits is the single biggest thing you can do in order to save gas. If you want to increase your mileage and save money at the pump then you need to pay attention.

Jackrabbit starts are extremely harmful to your gas mileage. This is because the car is so hard to move from a start that it uses the most amount of energy at this time. The more energy needed the more gas is burned. The more gas is burned, the more you have to spend at the gas station.

Driving with Excess weight is another way to throw money down the drain. If you have tons of junk in your trunk then you need to get rid of it. There's no point of carrying beach chairs if your not going to the beach!

Get a tune up and you can see a world of difference. If its been a while since your car was last serviced, then you could be wasting a ton of gas. If your car isn't in peak shape then it will require more gas to push the car since it is losing power.

Check your tires to make sure they are properly inflated. If your tires are under or over inflated, not only can they pop under high speed and create unsafe driving conditions, but they can also rob you of precious gas mileage. Always check your tire pressure to ensure they are at the optimal amount of air. You can determine the proper amount by looking in the drivers side door jamb, the operators manual, or the tire sidewall.

If you follow these simple tips you can save gas and as a result save money. And isn't that what its all about??

Work Out At Home Or At The Park

If you spend lots of money each month to belong to a gym, then here is a tip for you. You can save tons of money just by working out for free. Instead of running on a treadmill at the gym, just go to the local high school track. Instead of doing benchpresses at the gym, do pull ups at the local park. You can do things like push ups, situps, lunges, squats, and much more at home for free. Be creative and use household items as weights. Use bottles of water as weights and get a full range workout. Take the dog for a walk, jog, or even run and get some cardio action. Keep your body in shape without having to pay top dollar to belong to a gym. Most people don't get their money's worth anyways so why not save the money?

Take Shorter Showers

One of the easiest ways to save money around the house is have everyone in the house take shorter showers. Not only does this save tons of water, but also tons of power to heat the water. If everyone just cut a few minutes from their shower and cut down the amount of times per day they shower it can really add up. Think of all the people that don't even have access to clean water, let alone hot free flowing showers. The less we use, the more that is available to everyone else. So please people, lets try to do some of the small things and keep shower time to a minimum. I don't want everyone out there to give up bathing, I just think that many people are very wasteful when it comes to bathing. I am guilty of this as well and will try hard to rectify this in the future.
